In 2026, LMS software in India costs 20,000 to 1 lakh rupees a year plus 5 to 10 percent of what you sell on the course-selling platforms, 7,500 to 20,000 a month with no fee on the ones that charge flat, and 50 to 500 rupees per user per month for corporate training systems. Open-source Moodle is free to license and 2 to 8 lakh to set up properly. A custom platform costs 10 to 25 lakh.
Two products share the name, and the price depends on which you mean. A coaching institute selling courses is buying a shop, and the transaction fee is its real price. A company training staff is buying seats, and the per-user rate is. This guide prices both, and shows the revenue at which the "cheap" plan becomes the expensive one.
What does an LMS cost?
| Product | Price | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Graphy | Launch about 24,999 a year plus 10 percent of sales; Grow 49,999 plus 7.5 percent; Rise 99,999 plus 5 percent | Creators and coaching institutes selling courses |
| Classplus | From about 19,999 a year, no transaction fee, as published by competitors | Coaching institutes |
| Edmingle | From about 7,499 a month, no transaction fee, as published by the vendor | Training businesses |
| Teachable | From $39 a month plus a 7.5 percent fee on the starter plan, capped at 100 students; priced in dollars | Creators selling internationally |
| TalentLMS | $119 a month for up to 40 users, $229 for 70, $449 for 100; free for 5; dollars only | Corporate training |
| Moodle | Free software; hosting $12 to $150 a month; MoodleCloud $160 to $2,160 a year; Indian partner setup 2 to 8 lakh plus about 50,000 a year hosting | Institutions that want to own it |
| Corporate LMS, per user | About 50 to 500 rupees per user per month | Companies, priced on registered or active users |
Prices are what vendors and their competitors published in 2026, before 18 percent GST, which is claimable if you are registered. Several come from vendor comparison pages, so confirm the current plan. School management systems are a different product, priced per student, in our school ERP cost guide.
The fee is the price: a coaching institute's bill at five revenue levels
| Course sales a year | Graphy Launch, 10 percent | Graphy Rise, 5 percent | Edmingle, 0 percent | Classplus, 0 percent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 lakh | About 55,000 | About 1.15 lakh | About 90,000 | About 20,000 |
| 6 lakh | About 85,000 | About 1.3 lakh | About 90,000 | About 20,000 |
| 12 lakh | About 1.45 lakh | About 1.6 lakh | About 90,000 | About 20,000 |
| 30 lakh | About 3.25 lakh | About 2.5 lakh | About 90,000 | About 20,000 |
| 60 lakh | About 6.25 lakh | About 4 lakh | About 90,000 | About 20,000 |
Read across the 30 lakh row. The plan that looked cheapest at sign-up, 24,999 a year, costs 3.25 lakh once the institute is selling, because the fee grew with the business. The flat-fee plans cost the same at every row. The crossover between Graphy's entry plan and a 90,000-a-year flat plan is about 6.5 lakh of sales a year, or 54,000 a month. Above that, every percent of fee is a line you can remove by switching.
Flat plans give up things for that: fewer integrations, a plainer storefront, sometimes a cap on learners. For most institutes those matter less than the fee does once sales pass a lakh a month.

Corporate training: count users, and ask which users
For a company training its own staff the fee disappears and the per-user rate decides. TalentLMS at $119 a month for 40 users is about 1.2 lakh a year; Indian products at 50 to 500 rupees per user per month put 200 staff at 1.2 to 12 lakh a year, a tenfold spread that comes down to one question: does the vendor count registered users or active ones? A company with 500 staff and 80 doing a course this quarter pays six times more on a registered-user plan. Ask before anything else.
Moodle is the other route. The software is free, managed hosting runs 10 to 150 dollars a month, and an Indian partner's implementation costs 2 to 8 lakh plus about 50,000 a year of hosting on an Indian cloud region. It pays when you have hundreds of users and someone to run it; it does not when you have forty.
When is building worth it?
Almost never for the platform itself. A custom course platform, with video delivery, payments, quizzes, certificates and a storefront, costs 10 to 25 lakh and 15 to 25 percent of that a year, so 20 to 50 lakh over five years. At a 5 percent fee, that equals the fee on 80 lakh to 2 crore of sales a year. Below that, a flat-fee plan is cheaper and ready tomorrow.
What some institutes legitimately build is the piece the platforms do badly: a test engine with negative marking and rank lists for competitive exam coaching, a doubt-clearing workflow, or video protection beyond what the platform offers. That layer costs 3 to 8 lakh beside a rented platform, the same single-feature range as in our app development cost guide.
What moves the price
- Transaction fee versus flat fee, which is most of the difference for anyone selling courses.
- Learner or user count, and whether active or registered.
- Video hosting and bandwidth, sometimes metered, always the largest technical cost at scale.
- Live classes, often a separate tool or a per-minute charge.
- A branded mobile app, usually an extra tier.
How to read an LMS quote
- Work out your fee at next year's sales, not this year's.
- Ask whether users means active or registered.
- Ask what video hosting costs past the plan's allowance.
- Ask who owns the content and the learner data, and how you export both.
- Ask what the live class tool costs if it is not included.
Questions people ask
How much does LMS software cost in India?
Twenty thousand to 1 lakh a year plus 5 to 10 percent of course sales on platforms such as Graphy; 7,500 to 20,000 a month with no fee on flat-rate products such as Edmingle and Classplus; 50 to 500 rupees per user per month for corporate systems; and Moodle free to license with 2 to 8 lakh of setup. All before 18 percent GST.
What is the Graphy pricing?
As published by competitors in 2026: Launch about 24,999 a year with a 10 percent transaction fee, Grow 49,999 with 7.5 percent, and Rise 99,999 with 5 percent. Confirm on Graphy's own page, because plans change. The fee, not the plan price, is the number to model.
Is a zero-fee LMS cheaper?
Above about 6.5 lakh of course sales a year, yes. A 90,000-a-year flat plan costs the same as Graphy's entry plan at that level and less at every level above it. Below it, the fee-based plan is cheaper and usually better integrated.
How much does Moodle cost in India?
The software is free. Managed hosting costs 10 to 150 dollars a month, MoodleCloud 160 to 2,160 dollars a year by user count, and an Indian partner's implementation 2 to 8 lakh plus about 50,000 a year for hosting in an Indian region. It suits institutions with hundreds of users and someone to administer it.
How much does a custom LMS cost?
Ten to 25 lakh to build a full platform, 20 to 50 lakh over five years with maintenance, which only beats a 5 percent fee above 80 lakh to 2 crore of annual sales. A custom test engine or doubt workflow beside a rented platform costs 3 to 8 lakh and is the more common sensible build.
LMS or school ERP?
An LMS delivers and sells courses. A school ERP runs fees, attendance, admissions and reports for a school, priced per student. Coaching institutes usually need an LMS; schools need an ERP, sometimes with an LMS module inside it.
Getting a real number
If you sell courses, pick the plan on next year's sales and switch when the fee passes the flat rate. If you train staff, ask the active-user question first. If a piece of your teaching, a test engine, a doubt workflow, needs building, that is what we build, beside the platform you already use. What that looks like is on our web and SaaS development page.
